This blog is dedicated to my renewed interest in sportscard collecting, the Cincinnati Reds and other random stuff (and is currently on life support).
From 1975 to 1981 George Foster was probably the second best player in Baseball behind Mike Schmidt. He was better than Jim Rice, George Brett, Dave Parker, Pete Rose and Andre Dawson during that time period
I got George's auto on a '73 Topps back in '89 or '90. My uncle was doing the Reds fantasty camp and my dad brought me down for spring training. We went to visit my uncle and George was one of the guest instructors. He was a nice guy and happy to sign. I'm just glad my Grandfather knew who he was and that I randomly had his card in my plastic case.
